Richard Cheng is an internationally recognized Agile educator, coach, and transformation leader with deep roots in both public and private sectors. He is the founder of Agility Prime Solutions and previously held leadership roles as Director of Agile and Director of Training at Excella, as well as VP of Agile Training at NextUp Solutions. With a focus on delivering engaging, real-world learning experiences, Richard helps organizations build agility that scales beyond frameworks.
Throughout his career, Richard has supported a diverse range of clients including the Nasdaq Stock Market, Progressive Insurance, Dashlane, The Motley Fool, the Office of Personnel Management, and the Department of Defense. His work also spans non-profits and associations such as the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators and the American Association of Medical Colleges. He is a trusted partner to organizations navigating change, complexity, and scale.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Richard is a sought-after keynote speaker and published author in Agile and product management. His teaching is shaped by deep hands-on experience and an inclusive, people-centered approach. In addition to being one of the few Certified Scrum Trainers (CST) accredited by Scrum Alliance, he holds multiple additional certifications, including Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT), Kanban Management Professional (KMP), Certified LeSS Practitioner, PMP, and SAFe Program Consultant, among others.
